Description
This picture is printed borderless on a heavy, textured paper – Giclée Hahnemühle German Etching.
This is such a precious painting to me.
I love the way the oil on canvas takes months to create.
Here there is as I intended a play between flatness and rules lines – with use of masking – and implied perspective.
The restriction of the palette does something to express my sense of the purity of the vision.
A lighthouse – symbol and expressive of so much.
I should like to take this sign to its most irreducible – and in oil.
The most textural and difficult medium simplifying itself to a purity in expression.
